When Portfolio Server 10 catalogs TIFF files, some previews come up with a pink or blue tint

Description

Some of the TIFF images that I’ve cataloged have a pink or blue tint to them.

Solution

TIFFs saved in CYMK color mode may generate JPEG previews with a pink or blue tint if the TIFFs were saved with certain color profiles.

This issue is addressed in Portfolio Server 11. If you upgrade to the current version, you will no longer see this issue.

The latest installers are available here: http://www.extensis.com/support/product-support/portfolio-server-11/

NOTE: If you’ve already got TIFFs that are affected by this in your catalogs, you can fix the tint after upgrading to Portfolio Server 11:

  • In the Portfolio 11 Desktop Client, open a catalog, select the affected items, then go to Item -> Regnerate Thumbnail.
  • In the Portfolio 11 Web Client, open a catalog, select the affected items, then right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Mac) and select ‘Regenerate Thumbnail’.
