“Authentication Failed” error when connecting to Universal Type Server 4 on Windows using Universal Type Client 4 for Mac OS X

Description

When I connect to Universal Type Server 4 on Windows using Universal Type Client 4.0 for Mac OS X, authentication fails when using a Directory User login but not a local UTS user account. Connecting with UTC 4.0 on Windows does not have this problem.

Solution

This issue is addressed in UTC 4.0.1 for Mac OS X. You can get the installer by going to: http://www.extensis.com/support/product-support/universal-type-server-4/.
Note:You can use UTC 4.0.1 with UTS 4.0.0.
